Import price index up 8.7 percent in July

Greece’s industrial import price index rose 8.7 percent in July, compared with the same month last year, after a 6.0 percent increase recorded in July 2010, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.


The statistics service, in a report, attributed this development in the so-called imported inflatio
n to an 1.8 percent rise in the import price index from eurozone countries and a 15.2 percent increase in the import price index from other countries.


The index was up 1.2 percent in July from June.
