Unemployed exempt from extraordinary 'solidarity levy'

The unemployed in Manpower Employment Organisation (OAED) lists will not be receiving notices to pay a special income tax regardless of whether they had declared income earned in 2010 on condition that the sum declared was received for hired services.




According to a decision signed by Alternate Finance Minister Pantelis Economou, the long-time unemployed registered with OAED and those who receive unemployment benefits for 2011 are exempt from the mandatory payment of the special solidarity levy imposed.
