For Athens, a Menu of Unpalatable Choices


















Late Tuesday, a burgeoning revolt inside Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou's Socialist party threatened to bring down his government.

His Pasok party has a majority of 153 seats in the 300-member Parliament, but one member defected Tuesday and several others said they wouldn't support his call for a referendum on the euro-zone bailout package.
