Asteras opt for coach Dermitzakis

Much as Asteras Tripolis had appointed youth team coach Horacio Goncaves early in the week to replace sacked manager Vangelis Vlachos, on Thursday the Peloponnesian club announced the hiring of ex-PAOK coach Pavlos Dermitzakis.
The Kavala-born gaffer attended the afternoon training session of Asteras ahead of the tough home game against Olympiakos on Sunday and made his
first statements as the Asteras manager.
"I am very happy that the Asteras board has chosen me to cooperate with. I consider Asteras one of the best-organised clubs in the Super League and what we will try to do is to rebound so as to ensure we stay up," said Dermitzakis.
"The match with Olympiakos is a very difficult one. I have been at the team for a very short period of time but we will try to get something out of this, which is why we need the support of the fans," he added.
