EA Patras managed to reach the last four of the Challenge Cup for the second time in three years, after seeing off Selver Tallinn at home on Wednesday evening.
The Peloponnesian side beat the Estonians for
the second time in a week, this time by 3-2, despite a number of absentees from their team, in front of about 1,200 passionate fans at Patras.The Greeks beat Selver 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-10 in a close encounter, and having beaten the visiting team 3-1 in the first leg, too, they advanced to the semifinals of European volleyball's third-tier club competition.
EAP will now face Italian giant Macerata on February 22/23 at home and February 26/27 in Italy.
Earlier in the competition Macerata had eliminated Greek side Lamia.
