The euro is a stable and credible currency, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said Sunday.
While receiving the 2011 Global Economy Prize by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, or IHK, Mr. Trichet praised the price stability of the common European currency, saying the ECB has been delivering price stability with an annual average inflation rate of less than 2% for over 12 years.
