Ghost hunting it seems for Greece since we are looking to find 50 billion
euros in income from state property when we couldnt possibly reach this number unless we sell islands such as Mykonos and Santorini.
And the reasons are...
-according to the official numbers of the Stability Programm the participation fo the state in companies is 9,7 billion euros. Even if the state sells it womnt reach 10 billion euros. Even if it sells banks and gives the management to private companies it wont get 15 billion euros.
-although there is no official list of public property (offices, buildings, houses etc) the almost 30,000 property items they barely value for 35-40 billion euros. If one calculates the procedure of selling them the net profit is smaller.
This means that even if the greek state sells all the above it cannot reach 50 billion euros. then how did this number appear in all the negotiations?
Information says that the government has now lost all its credibility and negotiation power and will just succumb to the whim and will of the lenders for two reasons.
-Primarily,the postponing and back and forth that caused for a not a single sale of anything for a year and a half now. It was mathematically certain that the Troika would demand for the government to get rid of public companies, property etc.
-Secondly, the government is trapped in the scenario of a public property worth 400 billion euros something that apparently is not a reality.
According to double checked details the Troika set on the table, Mr.Antonis Samaras argument that he could find 50 billion euros in two years should the public property was used accordingly, in order for the country to get out of the IMF faster. The proposal was presented last summer whilst the government was talking of a 300 billion euros public property without the greek islands.
With such statements made by the Greeks, Europe is asking for the governement to sell. Although the profit of what we sell, even if we sell everything is 1/8 of what was calculated. Minister of Finance Mr.Papakostantinou, admitted that however the 50 billion are a number in the deal and therefore one thinks the Troika might already have proof that someone will pay for this property.
