Aris announced on Thursday evening the hiring of Sakis
Tsiolis as their new coach to replace Yiannis Michalitsos.
Although the former Olympiakos Volou manager had said he would not coach another club until the end of the season, Aris managed to convince him and get him sign a contract until the summer of 2012.
"It was the president and the fans of Aris who changed my mind," Tsiolis stated. "It is a great joy and honor for me to coach Aris," he added.
Tsiolis will coach the Thessaloniki club for the first time on Sunday in the Super League game at Kerkyra.
Tsiolis will be deprived of Croatian striker Danijel Cesarec as he got injured and will miss the next three weeks' action.
The 26th round of games will go ahead as the strike that the players' union (PSAP) had called for earlier in the week failed to get off the ground and was called off.
