Zalgiris Kaunas coach Ilias Zouros appears
certain to become the new coach of the Greek national team. Zouros secured a special leave from his Lithuanian team, that came to Athens for the match against Olympiakos on Thursday, in order to discuss his hiring with the Hellenic Basketball Federation on Friday, according to reports.
If he does get hired, Zouros will work on a part-time basis.
Asked about the prospect of becoming Greece's coach, Zouros said "I feel honoured, but at the moment my job is with Zalgiris and I have not got any more news about Greece. I do not know if something happens, but it will become evident in the coming days."
Zouros has also served as coach of Olympiakos and Panellinios, among other teams.
