Panionios draw to stay alive in final

Panionios managed to get a draw from favourites Savona at home in
the first leg of the LEN Trophy final on Wednesday, but the 9-9 result means the return match will not be easy at all for the Greeks.
In their second appearance in a LEN Trophy final in three years, Panionios hosted the first leg of the final of Europe's second-tier club competition at Nea Smyrni and trailed 5-4 at the end of the first half.
The Italians were very effective in attack at the start of the third period to lead 7-4, but the players of coach Makis Voltyrakis managed to splash their way back into the tie to draw 9-9 in the end.
The return leg is set to take place in Italy on April 27.
