PAOK take third place for play-offs

PAOK have secured third place in the A1 League with one game of
the regular season left after beating Kolossos Rhodes on Saturday.
The Thessaloniki side beat the visitors 66-56 to move to 40 points from 25 games, meaning that neither Aris, nor Maroussi, who both have 38 points, can move ahead of PAOK before the play-offs begin.
Aris blew their chance of a third-place finish after being beaten 89-80 at Panionios, who staged an impressive comeback after a poor start.
Maroussi did all they could by beating AEK 78-69 to deal a severe blow to the diminishing hopes that the Yellows have of staying in the division. AEK are now second-bottom with 32 points.
Ilisiakos took a major step towards salvation as they beat Peristeri 75-52. The convincing win means that the side from eastern Athens has 33 points.
Panellinios have one more point than Ilisiakos after losing 84-81 at Kavala.
In the day's other game, Ikaros Kallitheas beat already-relegated Iraklis 73-68.
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos were due to face off late on Saturday.
