Tax amnesty proceeds 1.3 billion euros, FinMin says

Greek state's proceeds from a scheme offering tax amnesty to self-employed taxpayers totaled 1.3 billion euros last year, of which 717 million euros were paid through commercial banks, Finance Minister George Papakonstantinou said on Monday. 
 
In a writter answer to Parliament, the Finance minister said tax agencies sent a total of 1,407,035 notifications to taxpayers of which 419,399 were accepted through banks in the months of November and December 2010. Papakonstantinou also said that a TAXISnet system was currently operating at a capacity rate of more than 98.5 percent.
