Tear gas and protests in Athens 'heart' (video)

Intensities and minor incidents occurred shortly before 14:00 in
Koumbari Street, Kolonaki, between protesters and police forces. During the incident, a protester was seriously injured in the head.

As it became known by the police, the protesters were marching from Syntagma square towards the Ministry of the Interior, but were refused passage around Parliament. Due to this, the protesters ran through Panepistimiou, Kriezotou, Kanari and Academias in order to approach the ministry from the rear.

In Koumbari street, however, protesters attempted to break through the police blockade. Police forces used chemicals to repel them, but eventually the protesters ran through Vasilissis Sofias boulevard and reached the ministry, where council members met with Minister John Ragousis.
