Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise

Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 0.12 percent, standing at 1,331.86 points at 11:30 am, and turnover at 12.464 million euros.



   Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in Insurance, up 3.50 percent; Technology, up 1.13 percent and Personal and Household Goods, up 1.12 percent.


   The biggest losses were in Food and Beverages, down 1.21 percent and Commerce, down 0.41 percent.


   The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.47 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.28 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.22 percent.
   Of the stocks traded, 38 were up, 16 were down, and 22 were unchanged.
