Greek c.bank plans probe of lenders' loan portfolios

Greece's central bank plans to commission an independent study of lenders' loan portfolios to be completed by the end of November in coordination with the EU, the IMF and the ECB, a central bank official said on Wednesday.

Battered by the country's deepening debt crisis, Greek lenders have lost access to interbank funding and become dependent on the European Central Bank for liquidity. Central bank authorities want to gradually wean them off this facility.
