Laszlo Boloni has agreed to become the new manager of PAOK, the Europa League challenger announced on Wednesday.
"A verbal agreement has been reached between PAOK and Mr Boloni for the next couple of years. On Thursday the contracts will be signed and he will be officially presented," the PAOK statement read.
The Romanian manager arrived in Thessaloniki without the press knowing it and reached an agreement with the club after preliminary talks had shown that a deal was likely.
The former Romania, Sporting Lisbon and Standard Liege manager reportedly rejected offers from his country's national team and his former club Steaua, opting for PAOK instead.
Boloni reportedly intends to rejuvenate the PAOK roster, expecting to make the team play more attractive football.
He replaces Makis Havos who was sacked a few days earlier.
