Retail Turnover Index Fell By 5.9% in April 2011

The Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Thursday that the turnover index in retail trade at current prices, excluding automotive fuel, recorded a fall of 5.9% in April 2011 compared with April 2010, according to provisional results. The Index in April 2010 recorded a decrease of 4.2% compared with April 2009.




The turnover index in retail trade, including automotive fuel, recorded a fall of 4.8% in April 2011 compared with April 2010. The Index in April 2010 recorded a decrease of 0.5% compared with April 2009, said ELSTAT.


The volume of retail trade (i.e. turnover in retail trade at constant prices), excluding automotive fuel, decreased by 7.8% in April 2011, compared with April 2010. The Index in April 2010 recorded a decrease of 5.7% compared with April 2009.

The retail trade volume index, including automotive fuel, decreased by 8.8% in April 2011 compared with April 2010. The Index in April 2010 recorded a decrease of 5.8% compared with April 2009.
