Volleyball: Iraklis beat PAOK to stay top - Panathinaikos and Patras also win

Iraklis maintained their two-point lead over Panathinaikos at the top of the A1 league thanks to their 3-0 triumph over cross-town rivals PAOK on Wednesday.PAOK suffered their third loss in the last four games, once again away from home, with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-21 score. The result forced PAOK to drop to the third spot.
Panathinaikos are now alone in
second courtesy of their 3-0 away win over Kifissia. The Greens struggled in all sets but managed to have a clear win and take all three points with a 26-24, 26-24, 26-24 score.
In the third match played on Wednesday EA Patras beat visiting Aris 3-1 (25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 25-22) to climb to fourth at the table.
The games between Apollon Kalamarias and Epikouros, Olympiakos and Panellinios, and Lamia and Ethnikos Alexandroupolis were postponed as some of those teams' players are with the national under-17 team.
Standings (after 10 games): Iraklis 25, Panathinaikos 23, PAOK 20, EA Patras 19, Olympiakos 17, Lamia 15, Aris 15, Kifissia 10. Ethnikos Al. 10, Apollon K. 8, Panellinios 6, Epikouros 3.
Olympiakos, Lamia, Ethnikos Al., Apollon K., Panellinios and Epikouros have a game in hand.
