A Spanish newspaper report suggested on Sunday that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is eying Greek striker Fanis Gekas.
The 30-year-old Eintracht Franfkurt forward, who decided to put an end to his Greece career last autumn, leads the scorers' chart in the German championship with 14 goals at the Bundesliga winter break.
Now Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo suggested that the Portuguese coach wishes to bring to the Santiago Berrnabeu one
of Miroslav Klose and Gekas in order to boost the frontline of the Spanish giants.
The Catalan sports daily argues that "there are many names that have been mentioned in the last few weeks as possible replacements for [injured Gonzalo] Higuain, but at this moment the biggest wishes [of Mourinho] for the Whites are both in the Bundesliga: Miroslav Klose (Bayern Munich) and Theofanis Gekas (Eintracht)."
Gekas has a contract with the Frankfurt side until June 2012.
