Super league: Greens win amid shower of goals

The high scoring continued in second day of round 18 of the Super League on Sunday as Panathinaikos matched Olympiakos's 4-2 scoreline from Saturday in their home victory over Kavala.
A total of 15 goals were scored on Sunday, which when added to the 15 from Saturday meant that it was a bumper weekend for the normally low-scoring Greek league. There were no scoreless games and only one match ended with one goal - all the others had two or more.

Panathinaikos are now back to being five points behind Olympiakos after their win at the Olympic Stadium in a match that was played behind closed doors.
Kavala took a shock lead in the fourth minute through Algerian midfielder Djamel Abdoun but the Greens hit back through Kostas Katsouranis on 12 minutes.
PAO then took the lead after 31 minutes through the ever-reliable Djibril Cisse, who continue to be linked with a move away from Greece.
However, the home side would not have the satisfaction of going into the break with a lead as Kavala won a penalty on 43 minutes, which Abdoun tucked away for his second of the game.
The game see-sawed again in the second half but Panathinaikos scored the only goals. Cisse put the Greens back in the lead after 64 minutes when the Frenchman scored a penalty.
The three points were wrapped up seven minutes from the end through Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.
AEK were also in a goal-scoring mood on Sunday as they put three past Asteras Tripolis in the Peloponnese to join PAOK on 30 points as the race for third place hots up.
All the goals came in the second half - Nikos Liberopoulos got the scoring underway on 47 minutes. Ismael Blanco added a second nine minutes later and Nacho Scocco rounded off the rout with a successful penalty in the 77th minute.
Aris were the day's big losers as they slipped down the table following shock 2-0 defeat to Panionios.
On loan Olympiakos striker Kostas Mitroglou got both the goals for the visitors in their first win at the Harilaou Stadium in more than 50 years.
The win lifts Panionios onto 19 points and on the verge of climbing out of the relegation zone.
The big winners of the day were Larissa, who got a vital home win against Iraklis. The Thessaly club remains bottom but is on 14 points after its 2-1 victory.
Jan Blazek got the home side off to the perfect start with a goal in the opening minute but Apostolos Vellios equalized for the visitors on 38 minutes.
The winner came courtesy of a powerful header from on-loan Congolese striker Joel Tshibamba, as new coach Nikos Costenoglou watched on.
Larissa are still last on 14 points but the win should give them renewed hope.
By comparison, Ergotelis's 1-0 win at Xanthi seemed quite a boring affair. But Diego Romano's 33rd minute goal means that the Cretans are now in fifth place on 24 points.
