Reds win but lose Vassilopoulos for season

Olympiakos maintained their 100 percent record in the A1 League with an easy win over Panionios on Saturday but received a serious blow when they found out that forward Panyiotis Vassilopoulos will miss the rest of the season through injury.
The Reds dismissed Panionios in customary fashion with an 82-63 home win but the victory was overshadowed by the news that Vassilopoulos has injured a knee ligament and is unlikely to feature again this season.
Olympiakos have 32 points from 16 games, Panionios have 23.
PAOK gained the bragging rights in Thessaloniki, beating rivals Aris 79-74. As expected, the game was not without tension or controversy, particularly as Aris guard Nikos Chatzivrettas was dismissed for amassing four rather than five fouls.
PAOK are in fourth place on 25 points after the wind, there places and one point ahead of Aris.
Fellow Thessaloniki club, Iraklis, were thrashed 79-49 at Ilisiakos. Iraklis are second bottom on 19 points, one behind Ilisiakos.
Maroussi remained in third place after their 81-77 win over Ikaros Kallitheas, who have begun to slip down the table.
Kavala are hot on the heels of PAOK and Maroussi after their 74-70 win over Kolossos Rhodes.
The Dodecanese club are on 24 points, one behind Kavala.
