"We will leave this building as winners or deceased"

Immigrants on hunger strikes are stopping the consumption of tea, who gave a press conference calling for dialogue with the government and warned that “if there are casualties many things will change in Greece”. Earlier on
Tuesday, the Immigrant Solidarity Initiative held a symbolic occupation of the GSEE building.

From the Forum of Cretian Migrants, Hadji Abdul called on the media to “stop the mudslinging”, stating that “Nobody is allowed to control our struggle, neither parties nor organizations. We make our own decisions and we will leave this building as winners, or be transferred to the cemetery”.

As it became known, on Wednesday the 9th of February, at 18:00, the Museum is organizing a concert in solidarity with the participation of immigrants. On the list of performers, among others, will be Alkinoos Ioannidis, Vassilis Lekkas, Dimitris Poulikakos and “Spyridoula” and “Ypogeia Revmata” music bands.

Friday is also a solidarity day towards the hunger strikers in Greece and Europe, and at 18:00 of that same day, there will be a march from the Museum towards Parliament, ending in the place where the 237 hunger striking immigrants are housed.

“A broad solidarity movement has been developed in Greece and abroad”, said a member of the Solidarity Initiative, Peter Yiotis, who read a message of sympathy from Constantina Kuneva to the hunger strike immigrants.
