Carnival season ends with annual parades (photostory)

Revelers, floats and parade participants thronged to the western port
city of Patras on Sunday, March 6, 2011, for the climax in carnival season festivities around Greece. Patras traditionally hosts the biggest and best-known carnival events in the country, marking the last day before the "Great Lent" in the predominately Eastern Orthodox nation ahead of Easter.
