display following their controversial derby defeat to Olympiakos two weeks ago to give Larissa hope of surviving the Super League.Frenchman Fabrice Pancrate gave the home side the lead on 22 minutes. On loan forward Joel Tshibamba made it 2-0 five minutes later.
Panathinaikos hit the post through Sebastian Leto but created little else aside from that to threaten Larissa's lead.
The win for the Thessaly side means they are still second from bottom but on 23 points, just two behind Asteras Tripolis, who occupy the last relegation spot.
