PM: 'We are at the end of the tunnel'

Patience and decisiveness was what the Prime Minister asked
from all members of the government during the ministers council today, since he characterized the situation we are in as a marathon. He mentioned that he is trying to have these two characteristics himself and asked from Minister’s and sub-Ministers to have the same approach in order to keep a clear head.

He mentioned that “we are going towards the end of the crisis” however pointing out that this is not the end of the problems and the economic struggles. He also commented on the positioning of his party in the media, saying that greek media tend to twist the reality and that needs to stop. The only solution is to work hard.

He also commented on the evaluation of the country from the house S&P, and others saying they are extremely pessimistic and panicky. But he predicted that since they have been wrong before they will be now as well. He also commented on the debt and public expenditure by saying that “we have entered the core of the problem and what need to happen is first to “clean out” the system and then to fight against unnecessary expenditure”.  Regarding the selling of property and companies that belong to the State, the Prime Minister suggested that there is one single voice from the government’s members.
