Xanthi hire Marinos Ouzounidis

Xanthi announced on Tuesday the hiring of coach Marinos Ouzounidis for the new season, while ending its cooperation with defender Thanasis Costoulas.
Ouzounidis, a former Xanthi player, had a rather bad season at Iraklis and was replaced by Giorgos Paraschos.
Many people had expected Nikos Papadopoulos to stay on at the Xanthi bench after his decent work as a caretaker this season, but the Xanthi board wanted to bank on the experience of Ouzounidis, who won a league title in Cyprus with APOEL in 2007.
In 2005-06 Ouzounidis was assistant coach at Xanthi, behind manager Yiannis Matzourakis.
This week Matzourakis was told he would not continue at the Kavala bench after his successor is found.
