Piraeus Bank: Russian Fund Obtains A c.5% Stake

Russian billionaire Alexander Nesis’s ICT Group bought a stake in Piraeus Bank, according to Bloomberg.

The size of the stake is “comparable” to the 5.7 percent in Piraeus held by Czech billionaire Petr Kellner’s PPF Group NV, said the news agency, which referred to an e-mail sent by ICT’s press service on Tuesday.

However, this is not a new entry, as it was announced during the recent annual general meeting of shareholders of Piraeus Banks. Moreover, Yanakov P Konstantin (ICT Group) and Smejc J Jiri (PPF Fund) had been appointed as member of the board in this meeting.
