The fundamental principles and outstanding matters regarding the Medium-Term programme were discussed on Monday at a meeting between prime minister George Papandreou with employment minister Louka Katseli that was also attended by finance minister Yiorgos Papakonstantinou.
According to sources, the programme has been completed with respect to the employment ministry, the primary concern of which is rationalisation of expenditures, beginning with medical supplies.
The sources said that the ministry's target is to reduce medical expenditure from the current 4.2 billion euros annually to 2.6 billion euros over the period 2012-2015.
