Panathinaikos captain Djibril Cisse is edging ever closer to leaving Greece and joining Italian side Lazio, reports in Greece and Italy suggested on Saturday.
The Roman club are eager to strengthen their frontline further, after the acquisition of German striker Miroslav Klose.
They have reportedly upped their original offer from 1.3 million euros per year to 1.7 million, but the Super League’s top scorer is asking for at least 2 million euros.
Lazio intend to reach an agreement with Cisse first before agreeing a deal with Panathinaikos, whose contract with Cisse has two more years.
The Greens will ask for at least 6 million euros, reports in Greece noted.
There are, however, other suitors for the French international, some of them from the Premier League as well.
