Air traffic controllers' stoppage ruled 'illegal' by court

Domestic and international flights to and from Greek airports will be carried out normally on Sunday, after an Athens court on Friday ruled a work stoppage planned by Greece's air traffic controllers to be illegal.

Air traffic controllers called the stoppage to press their economic demands and to protest against the new uniform salary scale in the public sector.

A work stoppage had been called from 2:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon on Sunday by air traffic controllers, but the Civil Aviation Authority (YPA) filed a petition in court asking that the stoppage be declared illegal and abusive.
