Administrative Reform Minister Dimitris Reppas addressed a letter to all the government ministers notifying them that the number of ministry directors must be reduced by 30 percent in an effort to further reduce public sector personnel, it was announced on Tuesday.

The reform plan provides for the merger of ministry divisions and directorates and a corresponding reduction in the number of supervisors, while the government is considering the abolition of services and permanent posts within the framework of the redundancy programme.
