Customs officers, tax officials announce strike action from October 17

Tax officials and customs officers on Monday announced a series of 48-hour strikes in protest against the new uniform public-sector pay scale, which may lead to salary cuts of up to 40 percent for higher-paid public-sector workers.

The tax officials' union federation announced two successive 48-hour strikes from October 17-20, while customs officers will strike from October 18-23.
