Hector Raul Cuper resigns from Aris

Hector Raul Cuper shockingly resigned from the Aris bench on Tuesday, issuing a statement confirming his decision.
The Argentine took the responsibility for the recent bad results of the Thessaloniki side and claimed this move was meant to help the team rebound.
"My decision is irrevocable despite the strong pressures by the club's board," Cuper suggested.
"I wish Aris all the best and that all the club's goals are reached," the Cuper statement concluded.

The club issued a statement of its own thanking Cuper for his contribution and wishing him the best of luck in the future.
Reports had suggested there was a considerable gap between Cuper's requirements for the transfer window and the club's policy.
Aris, who will face Manchester City next month for the Europa League, were taken aback by the news and will have to start from scratch their effort to find for a successor.
The unexpected news deals a blow not only to Aris but also to Greek football in general, as it rarely enjoys having such major coaching names as the experienced Argentine, who led the club to its biggest success in Europe, the elimination of Europa League holders Atletico Madrid last autumn.
