The import price index in the industrial sector rose 6.6 percent in December 2010, compared with the same month in 2009, after an increase of 6.3 percent recorded in the previous 12-month period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
The statistics service, in a report, said the higher imported inflation mainly reflected higher oil prices. The import price index from eurozone states was up 2.1 percent. while the import price index for non-Eurozone states was up 11 percent in December.
The index was up 1.7 percent in December from November 2010, while on average, the index grew 6.6 percent in the January-December 2010 period, compared with 2009.
