Athens Pride 2011

Athens Pride is an all-volunteer, registered non-profit association. It was founded in June 2005, with the first public, all-day LGBT festival and parade in the Historic Center of Athens.

The Athens Pride Festival and Parade takes place every year in early June, in commemoration of the first LGBT uprising at the Stonewall Inn in New York in June 1969.

Athens Pride 2011 will be held on Saturday, 4 June, in Klafthmonos Square, starting at 11.00 am. The Parade begins at 6.00 pm from the Square, followed by a dance party and live show featuring major Greek and foreign artists.

Events during Pride Week, the days leading up to the main event, will include exhibitions, street performances, discussions, film screenings, etc, related to LGBT issues in Greece and the region.
